An avid outdoor enthusiast, Amanda has grown up exploring the wild places of the southeast by kayaking, rock climbing, caving, backpacking, and camping. With a background and education in wilderness leadership and experiential education, Amanda enjoys the dynamic lifestyle that the backcountry has to offer. Her travels and experiences are a continuous journey that take her from one adventure to the next, and she is always out and about in nature whenever possible!
As a professional kayak guide and expedition leader for over 15 years, Dave has paddled all across the country and around the world. His list of favorite paddling destinations includes New Zealand, China, Baja, Maine, and the San Blas Islands of Panama. Of course he’ll insist that no place in the world can measure up to the marshes, barrier islands, and coastal creeks of the Eastern Shore of Virginia where he is on the water every chance he gets.
Dallas has lived in and grown up in the natural playground called the Eastern Shore for the last 12 years. He is entering his fourth year at the University of Virginia pursuing Media Studies and Arts Administration, and hopes to be a screenwriter or director someday. If he's not kayaking through the salt marshes, he's probably watching movies as "research," climbing trees somewhere, or attempting (failing) to do yoga on his stand-up paddle board.
Frank grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended Towson University. During his career as a nursing major, he discovered that writing stories and painting was better than reading textbooks. So, look for him outdoors because he’ll be searching for big adventures, and bigger daydreams.
Cody has lived on the Eastern Shore for 12 years and can't imagine growing up anywhere else. This fall he will be a senior at the University of Virginia, where he studies Architecture and Global Environments + Sustainability. He loves running, climbing, and watching HGTV.
Lisa is originally from Pasadena, Maryland and recently moved to Cape Charles. She has grown up on the water and would definitely classify herself as a mermaid at heart. While she's not on the water, she spends time at her jewelers bench working on new pieces for her jewelry business, Lisa Christine Jewelry. She has always loved arts and crafts of all kinds, and found a passion for metalsmithing while attending school at Towson University.
Haven is originally from Newport News, VA, but has been coming to the Eastern Shore for about 13 years, and will be living here for the summer. She recently graduated from Lynchburg College with her Physical Therapy degree and is currently studying for her board exam in July.
Nick has lived on the Eastern Shore for the past 14 years. He enjoys surfing at Chincoteague in his free time. He will be living in Central America next year.
Caroline has been living on the Eastern Shore of Virginia her entire life (and loves it here). She enjoys anything that has to do with the water- swimming, kayaking, surfing, skiing, etc. Caroline attends Liberty University and always looks forward to coming home to the shore!
Emily is going into her fourth year at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia for a degree in Art Education. She love kids and the creative energy they bring to life's table. Emily grew up in Onancock on the Eastern Shore, and loves to explore the water surrounding this awesome peninsula, whether it's kayaking in the bay or swimming in the ocean. She hopes to see you on the water!
Andrea is currently earning her degree in Environmental Science. Andrea is a dog person and loves fishing, surfing, and being around friends and family.
Rachel grew up in Maryland, but comes to her cottage in Silver Beach every summer. She enjoys reading, stand-up paddle boarding, and fishing on the beach. She is a Psychology major at Bridgewater college and hopes to open up a women's group home after graduating.
Julia's spirit fruit is a mango, despite being allergic. She is a rising junior at Sewanee: The University of the South where she is majoring in Environmental Studies. The shore is her home and she can't wait to show you around!
Rebekah is originally from Northern Virginia and currently teaches and lives on the Eastern Shore. Every summer since high school, she has worked at summer adventure camps, horse equestrian camps, and Kiptopeke State Park as an environmental educator. Besides kayaking, she enjoys hiking with her dog, backyard farming, camping, and anything in nature!
Meadow was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. For the last few years, she has been in southern Florida studying environmental studies at Lynn University. Having always lived by the water, Meadow enjoys scuba diving and boating, along with any other outdoor activities centered around the ocean and the Chesapeake bay!
