Frequently Asked Questions

+ Do you have a physical location?

In an effort to tamp down on the spread of COVID-19 we have taken our booking process fully remote. We serve all of Northampton County with tours and rental deliveries. Visitors can instantly book a tour through our website, or call us at 757.802.5210 for more information or to schedule a tour or rental.

+ Are your tours beginner friendly?

Absolutely. Each tour begins with a paddle school to teach or refresh guests on how to kayak. Beginners find they quickly get the hang of the sport once on the water.

+ What is the weight and height capacity of your kayaks?

Our single kayaks can handle any guests who weigh up to 250lbs and stand up to 6'4.

+ Are your tours safe?

All guests must wear life jackets on our tours. Guides carry first aid kits on every outing. We are constantly monitoring weather conditions for any storm or high winds. If we decide conditions are not safe we will cancel the tour and reschedule or refund you.

+ What should I bring on a tour?

Water, water, water. You can never have enough. Strap-on water shoes such as Tevas or Chacos can make getting in and out of kayaks easier. We also recommend sunscreen and hat, glasses, etc to shield yourself from the sun. Guides will always carry dry bags on a trip should you want to bring a phone or camera.

+ How do I schedule a rental?

All rentals must be scheduled over the phone or over email. Give us a call and we will get you in the books. All rentals include free delivery and pick-up.

+ What time does the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Refuge Tour launch?

We schedule our ESNWR Tour around the day's high tide. Once you have booked that tour with us you will receive a call from us 1-2 days prior to the tour confirming the exact launch time of the tour. You are also welcome to search Smith Island, VA tides to check the day's high tide and get a rough idea of when your tour would launch. We typically begin an hour prior to the day's high tide.

+ How young is too young for a kayaking tour?

We take anyone on our tours 5 years and older. Anyone under 12 will be placed in a double kayak with an adult from their party.

+ Do you all rent jet skis?

No we do not.

+ Is Dave still around?

Dave has moved to Hawaii. We are the captains now.
